MEMBERSHIP FEE AND CARD

Become a MEMBAZAM

 

Why ? : To create an engaged community, Increase the services offered, Create jobs in arts and culture.

 

Registration: At any time on the website or the ShazamFest Facebook public group by filling out the form.

 

Annual fee: Payable by interact transfer to membazam@gmail.com

 

Membership card :

Cards will be available to pick up at A Pizza Sherbrooke. 

For members outside the Eastern Townships, cards will be sent by mail.

Valid 1 year (Possibility of renewal at AGM)

If the card is lost or stolen, a $10 fee will be charged to obtain a new one.

 

Benefits of membership : 

  • Right to participate in the democratic life of ShazamFest.

  • One free weekend of camping on site (August 25-27, 2023).

  • Discounts on tickets for shows produced during the year.

  • Promote personal projects related to ShazamFest values on the Public Facebook group.

  • 10% discount on ShazamFest merchandise at the Store during the festival.

  • One free slice at A Pizza (287 Galt Street West, Sherbrooke) with the purchase of 10 prepaid slices. These pre-paid slices are then offered free of charge to people living on the street.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES AND ANNUAL DUES
 

Any individual or organization sharing the mission and wishing to participate in the democratic life of SHAZAMFEST can become a member by filling out the membership form and paying the annual fee.

 

Individual member :

 For individuals who wish to participate in the development of the organization and the realization of its mission. 

 

  • The Right to vote at meetings

  • Eligible for a seat on the Board of Directors

  • Annual membership fee : 35$

 

Community/Non Profit Organisation member: 

For organisations wishing to support and participate in the development of the organization and the achievement of its mission.

 

  • Voting rights at meetings (1 delegate)

  • Eligible for a seat on the Board of Directors

  • Annual membership fee : 35$

 

Corporate/institutional/municipal member : 

For private companies and municipalities that want to support the organization and its mission.

 

  • The Right to vote at meetings (1 delegate)

  • Not eligible for a seat on the Board of Directors

  • Annual membership fee : 150 $ includes 2 membership cards

 

Honorary member :

For individuals who have rendered service to the organization through their work or donations or who have demonstrated their support for the objectives of ShazamFest. These people are nominated by the Board of Directors. They thereby are eligible:

 

  • To vote at meetings 

  • No eligibility for a seat on the Board of Directors

  • Annual membership fee: 0$

 

Supporting member : 

For individuals or companies wishing to support ShazamFest financially, but without taking part in its governance, membership implies: 

 

  • Voting rights at meetings

  • Not eligible for a seat on the Board of Directors

  • Annual membership fee: $100

Mission:

ShazamFest is a non-profit festive events producer that celebrates creativity and the coming together through artistic expression and recreation, that fosters community engagement and ecological responsibility.

Vision:

ShazamFest is creating a more diverse, vibrant and caring world by encouraging kindness, equality, environmentalism, the fulfillment of youth, community development and cultural democracy.

Values:

SHAZAMFEST is a non-profit organization and a social economy enterprise with a mission of sustainable development in the arts and agricultural sectors:

 

- To organize quality events, with the goal of discovering and celebrating cultural differences through music and other mediums.

 

- To bring together and promote local, national and international culture, music and art in the form of festivals and other unifying events.

 

- To stimulate the participation of emerging artists in order to encourage self-management, exchange, learning and development by offering an alternative scene.

 

- To favour the creation of jobs for young people and adults in the Estrie region.

 

- To promote and encourage the artistic participation of the public in events that bring people together.

 

- To promote local agricultural and artisanal products during festive events. 

 

- To promote the following values during events: exchange, voluntarism, sharing, respect for people, animals and the environment.

 

- To encourage the development of infrastructures that allow for a certain degree of food autonomy during large events.

 

- To offer a greener and more eco-responsible festival in a vision of sustainable development.

 

- To create a net benefit for the whole community, by supporting artists and businesses in the region and by offering free cultural mediation activities.

 

- To promote food autonomy through the presentation of workshops and conferences related to urban and rural agriculture.
